Hi everyone,
I wanted to let everyone on this site know about an exciting experiment in the use of our collective spiritual power to support the healing of our world. The event is a "World Blessing" on the Parliament of World's Religions and the UN…
I am the Director of the Gaiafield Center for Subtle Activism at the California Institute of Integral Studies. We engage in collaborative 'subtle activism' projects to support collective healing and social change. See www.gaiafield.net, or our ning site www.gaiafield1.ning.com.
How long have you been involved in PeaceMaking?
About 8 years.
Are you currently involved in any non-profit or volunteer work?
Hi David,
I am writing you to ask if you can help spread the word about Globalfamily Day (one day of peace and sharing), celebrated every January 1st by the citizens of the world. It is a day where individuals and families share food with friends (especially the needy), make personal pledges of non-violence, and spread a message of peace and sharing by ringing a bells or beating a drum in hopes of making society and the world a safer place to live.
Globalfamily Day is an official international day of peace and sharing. The day was co-founded by Linda Grover and Congressman John Conyers (chief sponsor of the Martin Luther King holiday). Globalfamily Day has twice received the unanimous support of the U.S. Congress (S. Con. Res. 138, S. Res. 582, H. Con. Res. 317), the UN General Assembly (Resolutions 54/29 and 56/2), thirty-plus sitting heads of state and ambassadors representing more than 2/3 of the worlds population.
We have two brand new resolutions pending in the US Senate and House of Representatives (S. Res. 357 and H. Con. Res. 221) asking all Americans to observe Globalfamily Day on January 1, 2010 and asking President Obama to invite world leaders to celebrate Globalfamiy Day. These resolutions will be introduced in congress this week. We are holding a press conference on Capitol Hill on December 16th. We hope we can get President Obama to support our initiative and get him to use Globalfamily Day as one of his Nobel Laureate projects.
Would you or any of your friends and associates be interested in helping us spread the word about the importance of celebrating a day of peace? If you are interested and available, please let me know how I can reach you by telephone or email. Feel free to call or email me at any time. Thank you so much for your wonderful thoughs. I hope we can continue this conversation. Carpe diem!
Sincerely
Matthew Mullen, National Director

Hello David,
Some months ago, the unknown word mahaivi resounded in my mind at night. I took down a poem about Love and Life. And I sketched a symbol of Life. The following morning I looked up the word. It was an old Polynesian word that means "to live and be alive". We are officially launching it on 1/1/9. Please visit www.mahaivi.net and help to spread it as a universal symbol of Peace, Love and Life.
Hi David, I've just put your video front and center on Peace Portal, and will soon encourage all our members to watch it and join the cause. I love that it was made by Neal Rogin and Gary Malkin - they are both part of my HUB Impact Team. Such a unified world! Peace and Blessings!
I must say I'm fuzzy about how we might have worked together in the past (met so many wonderful people through the Kucinich campaign and DOP), but I'd love to help spread the word about WiseUSA here. Please make a blog post to give people a bit of context to refer to on site, and let me know when your key dates are...
