Do you have a favorite quote to share?
'The true meaning of life is to plant a treee under whose shade you do not plan to sit."

"Leep and the net will apear."
What is your interest in PeaceWork?
Peace Work is who I am. I am a mediator and a fcilitator for restorative practices.
How long have you been involved in PeaceMaking?
My entire life and beyond... As a child I wanted the fighting to stop between my parents -- it eventually became a life mission. It's not about my parents anymore it's about offering the opportunity to be loved and know you deserve it. It's about serving, taking responsibility, having empathy and forgiving. This is a life journey and one I'm sure that started before this life time.
Are you currently involved in any non-profit or volunteer work?
Resolution Works, The Conflict Center, My kids school ;o), Community Resource Center, women shelters, Colorado Arts Community
What is your Passion? Your Purpose?
I am a peace maker. I have spent most of my life choosing my path based on the elimination of violence/abuse. My experience has shown me that every person is whole and sometimes they only need someone to “hear” their story. It has been through my listening to those stories that I become clear about how to serve.
How do any products or services you offer contribute to making the world more peaceful?
Resolution Works provides mediation, conflict resolution, restorative justice, facilitation, community dialogues and trainings. We work within the systems currently available to resolve conflict and will meet the individual in conflict where they stand and provide tools and strategies to assist their path through the conflict.

Resolution Works, work with offenders for a mediation with the victim(s) of their crime. The goal is to bring an opportunity for both parties to the incident to speak directly and openly with each other in a safe, neutral, secure environment with a team of trained mediators assisting and facilitating the dialogue.

Hi Tamra,
I am writing you to ask if you can help spread the word about Globalfamily Day (one day of peace and sharing), celebrated every January 1st by the citizens of the world. It is a day where individuals and families share food with friends (especially the needy), make personal pledges of non-violence, and spread a message of peace and sharing by ringing a bells or beating a drum in hopes of making society and the world a safer place to live.

Globalfamily Day is an official international day of peace and sharing. The day was co-founded by Linda Grover and Congressman John Conyers (chief sponsor of the Martin Luther King holiday). Globalfamily Day has twice received the unanimous support of the U.S. Congress (S. Con. Res. 138, S. Res. 582, H. Con. Res. 317), the UN General Assembly (Resolutions 54/29 and 56/2), thirty-plus sitting heads of state and ambassadors representing more than 2/3 of the worlds population.

We have two brand new resolutions pending in the US Senate and House of Representatives (S. Res. 357 and H. Con. Res. 221) asking all Americans to observe Globalfamily Day on January 1, 2010 and asking President Obama to invite world leaders to celebrate Globalfamiy Day. These resolutions will be introduced in congress this week. We are holding a press conference on Capitol Hill on December 16th. We hope we can get President Obama to support our initiative and get him to use Globalfamily Day as one of his Nobel Laureate projects.

Would you or any of your friends and associates be interested in helping us spread the word about the importance of celebrating a day of peace? If you are interested and available, please let me know how I can reach you by telephone or email. Feel free to call or email me at any time. Thank you so much for your wonderful thoughs. I hope we can continue this conversation. Carpe diem!

Sincerely

Matthew Mullen, National Director

Hello Tamra,

Some months ago, the unknown word mahaivi resounded in my mind at night. I took down a poem about Love and Life. And I sketched a symbol of Life. The following morning I looked up the word. It was an old Polynesian word that means "to live and be alive". We are officially launching it on 1/1/9. Please visit www.mahaivi.net and help to spread it as a universal symbol of Peace, Love and Life.

Many thanks and kind regards,

Pedro
