What country do you live in?
United States
Do you have a favorite quote to share?
"I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming." -- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)
What is your interest in PeaceWork?
Alana. And helping create a better, more conscious, caring, and enlightened world.
How long have you been involved in PeaceMaking?
"Peace work", as it is commonly defined, has not been the main focus of my life. That said, I have been actively involved in helping our world become more conscious and caring. I have also been a loud and consistent voice shining light on and questioning hurtful, often violent activities all over the world, especially the Bush administration's narrow-minded and shameful exploits.

Closer to home, I spend a lot of time seeking to heal and transform the areas of my personality, and personal life, that contribute to our collective dysfunctions. Likewise for NHNE, the non-profit I founded.
Are you currently involved in any non-profit or volunteer work?
NHNE
What is your Passion? Your Purpose?
Here is the mission statement from the non-profit I founded, which pretty much sums up what I'm about, too:

The mission of NewHeavenNewEarth (NHNE) is to answer humankind's oldest, most perplexing questions: Who are we? Why are we here? Where are we headed? What is the origin and purpose of life?

Instead of relying on ancient or contemporary wisdom, or the knowledge of isolated experts, we are building a global network of seekers from all walks of life, from all parts of the world, lay people and professionals alike, that can pool talents, experience, and resources to unravel life's great mysteries.

We also believe that our planet is passing through a time of profound change and are seeking to create a global community of like-minded people that can safely pass through whatever changes may come our way and help give birth to a new way of life on our planet.
Is there anything else that you'd like us to know about you?

The Hopping Stone Vision

By David Sunfellow
Winter, 1995
Sedona, Arizona

Deep in the southwest deserts, an old medicine man and young brave stand atop a great plateau. Together they silently survey all the Earth.

After what seems like ages of absorbing all that can be seen, the old man taps his medicine stick on the ground. From twelve different directions great streaks of lightning strike the Earth, and from each place the lightning strikes, twelve great stones begin to form. As th… Continue

We're on the same wavelength tonight. I just finished posting another comment to the global notifications forum. Assuming we are talking about the same thing (being notified when any new content appears on our networks), I should hear back from them shortly. Here's where the forum is in case you want to add your thoughts:

Hi David, just cc'd a note to one of the Ning developers about this problem with notifications not coming from comment wall posts. Maybe you can bring more clarity to the concern than I did. Hope to see it resolved, as I now understand the problem. Just haven't got the time to do this all over again on zadz - quite yet. Peace out, Alana
